Activation Limits:

For Windows Server 2025 Datacenter Edition under CSP (Cloud Solution Provider) licenses, there are specific activation limits to ensure compliance and proper usage. Each CSP license typically allows for a limited number of activations, which are greater than the number of purchased licenses to accommodate scenarios like hardware replacements or upgrades.

If additional activations are needed, such as in cases of server reinstallation due to hardware issues, Microsoft may grant more activations based on the number of virtual machines the customer plans to run per physical core, with a maximum of 256 activations per CSP license purchased.
